T R U N K S ... Where it all began, for me.

Trunks, where it all began, for me.  Trunks are the one piece that most people hold onto, and cherish, more than any other piece of furniture.  They get handed down, from generation to generation.  They get shipped from far away,  they're usually the one piece that comes in handy, on moving day!  Whats-more, they don't take up a ton of space.

Steamer trunks were once loaded up with ones possessions, and taken on vacation. aboard a steam ship.  Maybe THIS is where the whole "size matters" thing stems from.  The size of ones trunk, would basically tell a story about how well to do you were.  In that day, one usually had 2 sets of clothing, one for work, and one for good.  If you needed a larger trunk, you had more clothing, and were probably well off.

Trunks, and steamer trunks today,  are used for so many different things.  They're truly one of the most stylish, versatile  pieces of furniture, you could own.  They make unique coffee tables, that have an abundance of storage, or behind a sofa, instead of a sofa table.  They can be used at the foot of the bed, for blanket storage, or as a hope chest, or as a step up for shorter dogs.  They can be stood on end, as shelves, or perched open, as a display.  Put up high on a ledge or a loft with lighting,  the possibilities are endless.   It's a piece that you can truly make your own, over and over again.

I've refinished hundreds of trunks and shipped them all over the united states.  I've also refinished trunks that people have brought by my studio, often a handed down trunk.
If you plan on purchasing a trunk, from me or anywhere else, I'd like to suggest that you buy the same amount of trunks, as you have children.  One day, they will each have their own trunk, and they can repeat with their own children.  There's no time like the present to start a new family tradition, one that could carry on forever !
