The Restored Collection

The Saratoga trunk represents the height of 19th-century travel luxury. Originally designed for the elite vacationing in Saratoga Springs, these Victorian dome top trunks are famous for their high-arched lids and intricate metallic patterns. In this collection, I highlight the architectural beauty of the humpback silhouette. Each piece is restored to preserve its historical soul while providing a clean, odor-free storage solution for the modern home. These are the ultimate statement pieces for bedrooms, libraries, and heritage-inspired studies.

Authentic Interiors

While I specialize in creating clean, functional storage, it is important to remember that these 19th-century pieces have lived a full century of history. At the Angelina Nikon studio, when I strip and sand an interior, not all wood can be restored to a 'like-new' or perfectly uniform appearance. Many 1800s trunks were constructed with rough-sawn lumber or naturally dark timber species that retain a deep, aged hue even after professional surfacing. Historical spills, deep-set stains, and natural wood anomalies are often permanent markers of a trunk’s storied journey. I smooth these surfaces to the best of my ability to ensure they are clean and usable, but I embrace the authentic character—the knots, grains, and shadows—that defines a true antique survivor."
