Antique Steamer Trunk Coffee Table, Shabby Beachy Storage Chest

Previously a antique travel trunk or travel chest now this beachy shabby antique steamer trunk makes the perfect chest coffee table.

This old trunk used to be canvas covered, and someone stripped the canvas off of it. The bad side to that is you can see threads poking out, under the hardware. I’ve trimmed them and pulled more out, but you can still see them, if you look closely, see pictures.
The canvas was put on, before anything else, so they’re still under everything.
The metal portions appear to have the original finish, as do the wood slats. Wood slats have a walnut color that is worn and darkened in some spots. I loved the way they looked, so I left them.
Body of the trunk is finished in tans, with a bit of grey and silver, for that shabby beachy look. There is a crack on the backside, that doesn’t seem to affect it structurally, see photos.
Trunk has swivel and lock steel wheels and new deep brown leather straps (matched the original strap holders) across the top and front. Original leather strap holders are still fully intact, with the original oversized studs. New leather handles that match the straps
No keys,for the hasp lock.
The interior of this Vintage Chest Trunk is stripped, sanded , and awaits your finishing touches, though it is useable the way it is. You could decoupage, old family photos, kids art, sheet music etc. or paint /use contact paper, on the inside.
Trunk Coffee Table Measures: 34 1/2” wide, 20” deep (front to back), 16 3/8” tall, including slats & hardware
