Antique Steamer Trunk, Metal & Wood Banded Chest, Monitor Top Vintage Luggage, Refinished Waterfall Front, Sanded Wood Interior Storage
This rare Monitor Top antique steamer trunk is a stunning combination of smooth tin and wood banding, featuring the highly sought-after flat lid with a rounded waterfall front. Professionally refinished by Angelina Nikon, the exterior preserves its industrial character with hand-buffed hardware and rich walnut-stained slats. The interior has been completely transformed—stripped and sanded to bare wood, ensuring this vintage luggage chest is entirely clean and odor-free. This metal and wood banded chest offers a functional level surface for display and spacious internal storage, making it the perfect choice for a luxury blanket chest or a unique statement piece.
This spectacular antique trunk, or vintage trunk. Also known as a monitor trunk, from the late 1800’s. What was once a vintage travel trunk or vintage travel chest, is now ready to be your treasure chest or treasure trunk, the perfect decorative storage chest, and much better looking than a cedar chest and more versatile! This trunk could also make a nice coffee table, or end table too, height could be changed a bit, by swapping out wheels, message me for details.
This antique chest is covered in tin and it’s a newly refinished trunk, or refurbished trunk. The oak slats on this antique chest trunk have been refinished in walnut stain. the tin body has been refinished in varying shades, and sheens, of browns, bronze and black. it’s done in a partial ombré. The original hardware is done in black and buffed bright.
This flat top trunk has new, custom leather handles, and 3” swivel and lock steel wheels. This old trunk does have flaws, look closely at the pictures, there are various dents, dings and textures.

The interior of this vintage trunk chest has been stripped and sanded, and awaits your finishing touches, though it is useable just the way it is.
