Antique Steamer Trunk, Refinished Travel Chest, Storage Trunk
This is a very nice antique steamer trunk, antique chest. Once a vintage travel trunk or vintage travel chest, is now ready to be your treasure chest or storage trunk.
This steamer trunk appears to have been refinished, at some point, but not by me, and not very recently, though the finish is in great shape. The way this vintage chest trunk it’s finished, makes it almost look like leather, on the top. Hardware on this vintage travel trunk has been meticulously done in gold/brass, and the contrast, of the brown & black body, with the gold/brass hardware is extremely striking!

One of the handles, on this old trunk is partially broken, and if used, the other will end up the same way. The broken handle could be glued, or stitched, to improve appearance, but neither will be strong enough to support the weight, though I never recommend using any of the trunk handles
The interior of this antique steamer trunk, is original and in pretty good shape (see photos), the hat compartment in the lid, even still has the little latches, on each side (see closeup picture)
