This spectacular, medium sized, Antique steamer trunk, is a wooden chest covered in embossed tin, likely from the late 1800's Formerly a vintage travel trunk or vintage travel chest, this antique chest is not only beautiful, but very serviceable as an antique storage chest, or storage trunk. It’s a true treasure chest!
These old trunk chests are also an excellent way to store some of your workout equipment, dumbbells, yoga mats, dog food storage, record album storage etc. They’re more than just blanket storage!
The wood slats, on this steamer trunk have been stained in walnut, and topped with polyurethane. The embossed tin portion of the trunk has been finished in multiple shades browns, and the high points of the embossed tin have been buffed bright. The hardware has been done in black, and buffed bright. Remainder of the body has been done in an aged black finish.
This embossed tin pattern, is very scarce. New, custom black leather handles, no key.
Interior of this vintage trunk is stripped and sanded, and ready for your finishing touches. These old trunks are a great keepsake gift, add decoupage, of photo copies of family photos, old love letters, sheet music, family recipes, children’s art, etc. it’s a blank canvas! It’s also useable, just as it is.
The interior of this vintage travel trunk can also be stained, painted, upholstered, or decoupaged to your specifications, by me, for an added charge.
