This antique trunk or vintage chest , is larger than most. An extra large antique steamer trunk, it’s not only beautiful, but this large trunk serves very well as a storage trunk, or storage chest. It will hold more than a hope chest, or an antique cedar chest. Better than a leather trunk!

This antique steamer is one of the largest old trunks, I’ve ever had in my possession, likely from the 1920’s or 1930’s
This antique chest trunk is newly refinished or refurbished in brown metallic, which is more of an iridescent ( it’s so subtle), and it was super close to the original color. The tan, buckskin color portions I believe are vellum (leather), but I’m. not certain, tacks have been buffed bright on the tan areas, and the rest of the hardware is partially buffed, to reveal brass, copper and silver tones. it appears to be plating. Metal band, and hinges still have their original finish. Great detail, in all the original hardware.
This antique chest trunk also has it’s original tan leather handles. they can’t be used, because they’re quite rotten, but they look great.
There is no key for this vintage travel trunk or travel chest, and the center hasp has been taken apart, at some point, so the lock mechanism is stuck in the lid portion, where the hasp would sit to be locked. There are also 2 small chunks of leather missing, on the back and top back, and some spots on the body see pictures. The flaws on the body could be covered with reproduction travel stickers. There is one original travel sticker on the end.
Interior, of this vintage steamer trunk’s body has been stripped and sanded and awaits your own personal touch, though it is useable as it is. You could decoupage photo copies of some old family photos, sheet music, art work anything paper. You could also stain, paint, apply contact paper, etc. I’m happy to guide you, if you need.
