Steamer Trunk, Vintage Chest, Antique Trunk, Coffee Table Trunk, Vintage Trunk Indestructo, Flat Top Trunk LARGE
A large, antique steamer trunk. Once a travel chest or a travel trunk, is now ready to be your storage chest, or coffee table trunk. Very reminiscent of a leather trunk, but no risk of leather rot!
This old trunk is refinished ( a refinished or refinished trunk)in a beautiful deep metallic/iridescent brown, the bent wood slats are finished in walnut, with the oversized tacks buffed bright. Rounded metal corners are done in a bronze, and the latches and hinges are their original aged brass or brass plate, not really sure what they are . New custom brown leather handles, and one side the metal parts to the handles are bent up a bit, but it’s not super noticeable. It’s from the early 1900’s so it does have some scars, here and there.
The interior, of this large trunk has been stripped and sanded and awaits your finishing touches, though it is useable just the way it is. It also has 3 original inserts with it, that have also been stripped and sanded, though the bottom 2 are super light weight They also still have the original straps, that have “Indestructo” printed in them. They could be cut off, if you didn’t want to keep them.
You could decoupage photocopies of old family photos, family recipes, children’s art, love letters etc. it could also be painted , stained or torch finished by me, for an added charge.
