This super cute, black antique steamer trunk is a partially original. A small antique trunk that once traveled the world as an antique travel trunk or antique travel chest. It’s now ready to be part of your home decor as a small storage chest, treasure chest or blanket chest!
This old trunk is refinished or refurbished, but I left some of the original paint, on the body. It’s refinished in a matt black with the center bits being the original part (the copper colored circles) Oak slats on this vintage chest trunk are stained in a light walnut, with some color distressing, then too coated in a satin polyurethane (very minimal sheen). New, custom black leather handles, no key for this steam trunk.
Interior of this small chest has been stripped & sanded and is ready for your finishing touches, though it is useable just the way it is.
These antique trunk interiors are the perfect place to decoupage photo copies of old family photos, children’s art, recipes, awards documents etc. They make a great keepsake gift, retirement gifts, anniversary gift, couples gift, housewarming gift and gifts for her or gifts for him.
If you’re not familiar with decoupage, I’d be happy to guide you. You could also add peel and stick wall paper, or contact paper. I can also torch, stain, paint, or poly the inside for you, for an added charge, and a slight shipping delay.
